Collection: Oxidised Rakhi | Antique Silver Finish Rakhi for Brother
Oxidised silver rakhis with an antique blackened finish that settles into the recesses of a design and stays bright on the raised detail. The technique is used to make relief work read clearly — jata, crescent moon and portrait detail stand out far more than they would on plain polished metal.
Priced at Rs. 249, presented in a premium gift box on deep maroon mauli thread with oxidised silver beads and tassels. Ships free across India with cash on delivery available.
About Oxidised Rakhis
Is oxidised silver real silver?
These pieces are oxidised silver-plated brass, not solid silver. The plating and darkening give the antique silver look at an accessible price. If you want solid 92.5% hallmarked sterling silver, see our silver rakhi collection.
What is oxidisation?
A deliberate darkening of the metal surface. It is applied and then partly polished back, so the dark tone remains in the recesses while raised areas stay bright — which is what gives oxidised jewellery its depth and antique character.
Will the finish rub off?
It holds through normal festive wear. Avoid water and perfume, store it in the gift box, and wipe with a soft dry cloth. Never use silver polish on oxidised pieces — polish is designed to strip exactly this finish.
Who are these suited to?
Brothers who prefer an antique, understated look over bright gold or polished silver, and devotional designs where fine relief detail matters.
