Geometric Oxidised Rakhi — Skin-Friendly Rectangular Design

A geometric oxidised rakhi with a clean rectangular form, handmade in Satara, Maharashtra by Jija Designer Jewellery in a deep antique finish. Made from skin-friendly metal that is nickel-free and lead-free, so it sits comfortably on the wrist through the whole day, even on sensitive skin.

Not every brother wants a deity or a flower. This is the rakhi for the one who prefers something plainer and more modern — a strong geometric shape rather than an ornate motif. Tied on Raksha Bandhan, it reads clean and contemporary, closer to a piece of men's jewellery than a traditional rakhi, while the oxidised finish keeps it grounded and warm rather than cold.

Why a Geometric Design Works in Oxidised Metal

A plain shape has nowhere to hide — with no figure or flower to carry it, everything rests on clean lines and even edges. That is exactly where an oxidised finish helps: the dark settles into the recessed borders and along the engraved lines while the flat faces stay bright, giving the rectangle definition and depth instead of leaving it a flat blank plate. It is the finish that turns a simple shape into something deliberate and designed rather than empty.

Your Questions, Answered

It suits a brother who prefers something plain, modern and understated over a deity or floral design. The clean rectangular shape reads more like contemporary men's jewellery, which many younger brothers prefer.
No. This is not 925 sterling silver. It is a skin-friendly alloy with an oxidised antique polish, designed to look like traditional silver-toned jewellery at an affordable price.
Yes. The metal is nickel-free and lead-free, so it is suitable for most people with sensitive skin. If you have a known severe metal allergy, please test-wear briefly first.
No. Skin-friendly metal with oxidised polish does not leave green marks the way low-grade rakhi metal does. Keeping it dry keeps it that way.
The finish is durable for the festival season and beyond with normal care. Contact with water, sweat and chemical polish is what causes fading — avoid these and it holds its colour.
Yes. The tie thread is adjustable and fits children, teens and adults.
Yes. Many customers order multiple rakhis for brothers and cousins, or pair it with a lumba rakhi for bhabhi. Add more from our Rakhi collection.
Yes. Jija Jewels ships pan-India from Satara, Maharashtra. Order early in the Raksha Bandhan week to be safe.
Yes. Because it is metal and not paper or plastic, it stores well and many families keep it as a keepsake or reuse it.

Care guide

Keep away from water, perfume, deodorant and oil — spray fragrance first, wear the rakhi after. Wipe gently with a soft dry cotton cloth after wearing. Do not clean with silver polish liquid, toothpaste, or a metal brush — this strips the oxidised dark from the borders and engraved lines and flattens the design. Store in a dry zip pouch or airtight box, away from humidity. Remove before bathing, swimming, or sleeping to protect the thread. If it dulls over time, a light dry buff with cotton restores the shine.
