Oxidised Rakhi for Brother – Skin-Friendly Handmade Antique Finish

A handmade oxidised rakhi made in Satara, Maharashtra by Jija Designer Jewellery, in a traditional antique finish. Made from skin-friendly metal that is nickel-free and lead-free, so it sits comfortably on the wrist through the whole day, even on sensitive skin.

A straightforward, well-made rakhi for Raksha Bandhan — no plastic, no loose stones, nothing that will look tired by evening. This is the one to choose when you want something that simply looks right on the wrist and holds up through the day's photographs and ceremonies.

A Good Choice When You Are Buying Several

Most families are not buying one rakhi. Between brothers, cousins and children there are usually four or five to tie, and mixing a plastic one in among good pieces shows immediately in the photographs. A classic oxidised design solves that — it sits comfortably alongside our Ganpati, Shivmudra and Maharaj rakhis without competing with them, and it suits any age from a young cousin to an elder brother. The nickel-free metal matters here too, since with several people wearing them you cannot know in advance whose skin will react.

Your Questions, Answered

Yes. Many customers buy four or five at once for brothers, cousins and children. You can mix this classic design with our Ganpati, Shivmudra, Shree Ram or Maharaj rakhis in the same order.
No. This is not 925 sterling silver. It is a skin-friendly alloy with an oxidised antique polish, designed to look like traditional silver-toned jewellery at an affordable price.
Yes. The metal is nickel-free and lead-free, so it is suitable for most people with sensitive skin. If you have a known severe metal allergy, please test-wear briefly first.
No. Skin-friendly metal with oxidised polish does not leave green marks the way low-grade rakhi metal does. Keeping it dry keeps it that way.
The finish is durable for the festival season and beyond with normal care. Contact with water, sweat and chemical polish is what causes fading — avoid these and it holds its colour.
Yes. The tie thread is adjustable and fits children, teens and adults — useful when you are buying for several people at once.
Yes. Jija Jewels ships pan-India from Satara, Maharashtra. Order early in the Raksha Bandhan week to be safe.
Yes. Because it is metal and not paper or plastic, it stores well and many families keep it as a keepsake or reuse it.

Care guide

Keep away from water, perfume, deodorant and oil — spray fragrance first, wear the rakhi after. Wipe gently with a soft dry cotton cloth after wearing. Do not clean with silver polish liquid, toothpaste, or a metal brush — this strips the oxidised layer. Store in a dry zip pouch or airtight box, away from humidity. Remove before bathing, swimming, or sleeping to protect the thread. If it dulls over time, a light dry buff with cotton restores the shine.
