Oxidised Rakhi – Skin-Friendly Handmade Antique Finish for Gifting

A handmade oxidised rakhi made in Satara, Maharashtra by Jija Designer Jewellery, in a traditional antique finish. Made from skin-friendly metal that is nickel-free and lead-free, so it stays comfortable on the wrist through the whole day, even on sensitive skin.

A clean, classic oxidised design that works when you need rakhis to give rather than to wear yourself — hampers, return gifts, office and community distribution, or simply sending several to family. It looks considered rather than cheap, which is the whole point when it is going to more than one wrist.

Made to Give Well

A rakhi you are giving carries a slightly different requirement from one you keep — it has to make a good impression on someone whose taste you cannot check first. A plastic-and-thread rakhi tells the receiver it was picked up in a hurry; an oxidised metal one in a proper antique finish reads as something chosen. It costs little more and looks considerably better, which is why it works so well for hampers and return gifts where the piece is doing the talking. Because the metal is nickel-free, it also suits being given to people whose skin you do not know.

Your Questions, Answered

Yes. This design is a popular choice for hampers, return gifts and office or community distribution. Order the quantity you need from the product page; for very large orders, contact us at jijaretail@gmail.com.
No. This is not 925 sterling silver. It is a skin-friendly alloy with an oxidised antique polish, designed to look like traditional silver-toned jewellery at an affordable price.
Yes. The metal is nickel-free and lead-free, so it is suitable for most people with sensitive skin. This makes it a safe choice for gifting to people whose skin you do not know.
No. Skin-friendly metal with oxidised polish does not leave green marks the way low-grade rakhi metal does. Keeping it dry keeps it that way.
The finish is durable for the festival season and beyond with normal care. Contact with water, sweat and chemical polish is what causes fading — avoid these and it holds its colour.
Yes. The tie thread is adjustable and fits children, teens and adults — useful when a single gift order goes to people of different ages.
Yes. Jija Jewels ships pan-India from Satara, Maharashtra. For gifting orders, place them early in the Raksha Bandhan week to allow delivery time.
Yes. Because it is metal and not paper or plastic, it stores well and many families keep it as a keepsake or reuse it.

Care guide

Keep away from water, perfume, deodorant and oil — spray fragrance first, wear the rakhi after. Wipe gently with a soft dry cotton cloth after wearing. Do not clean with silver polish liquid, toothpaste, or a metal brush — this strips the oxidised layer. Store in a dry zip pouch or airtight box, away from humidity. Remove before bathing, swimming, or sleeping to protect the thread. If it dulls over time, a light dry buff with cotton restores the shine.
