Om Rakhi — Oxidised Skin-Friendly Aum Symbol Design

An Om rakhi handcrafted in Satara, Maharashtra by Jija Designer Jewellery, finished in a deep antique oxidised polish. Made from skin-friendly metal that is nickel-free and lead-free, so it sits comfortably on the wrist through the whole day, even on sensitive skin.

Om is the one symbol that crosses every Hindu tradition — chanted at the start of every prayer, belonging to no single god. That universality is exactly why it makes such an easy rakhi to choose for a brother: it carries a blessing without asking him to follow any particular deity. Tied on Raksha Bandhan, in dark oxidised metal, it reads calm and grounded rather than flashy.

A Symbol That Asks for Nothing Extra

The Om needs no scene, no border and no second element to complete it — it is whole on its own, which is rare for a devotional motif. On a rakhi that is an advantage: the single character fills the piece cleanly and the oxidised finish does the rest, the dark tracing the curve so the shape stays sharp and legible against the metal. It is the most understated devotional rakhi we make, and for many brothers that restraint is precisely the appeal.

Your Questions, Answered

Yes. Om is a universal sacred symbol that belongs to no single deity, so it suits any brother regardless of which gods the family keeps. Many customers choose it for exactly that reason when buying for several people.
No. This is not 925 sterling silver. It is a skin-friendly alloy with an oxidised antique polish, designed to look like traditional silver-toned jewellery at an affordable price.
Yes. The metal is nickel-free and lead-free, so it is suitable for most people with sensitive skin. If you have a known severe metal allergy, please test-wear briefly first.
No. Skin-friendly metal with oxidised polish does not leave green marks the way low-grade rakhi metal does. Keeping it dry keeps it that way.
The finish is durable for the festival season and beyond with normal care. Contact with water, sweat and chemical polish is what causes fading — avoid these and it holds its colour.
Yes. The tie thread is adjustable and fits children, teens and adults.
Many families keep a devotional rakhi in the pooja ghar or with other sacred items rather than discarding it. Wipe it dry, wrap it in clean cloth, and store it away from humidity.
Yes. Many customers order multiple rakhis for brothers and cousins, or pair it with a lumba rakhi for bhabhi. Add more from our Rakhi collection.
Yes. Jija Jewels ships pan-India from Satara, Maharashtra. Order early in the Raksha Bandhan week to be safe.

Care guide

Keep away from water, perfume, deodorant and oil — spray fragrance first, wear the rakhi after. Wipe gently with a soft dry cotton cloth after wearing. Do not clean with silver polish liquid, toothpaste, or a metal brush — this strips the oxidised layer from around the Om curve and reduces its contrast. Store in a dry zip pouch or airtight box, away from humidity. Remove before bathing, swimming, or sleeping to protect the thread. If it dulls over time, a light dry buff with cotton restores the shine.
